A bride has overcome the unthinkable to have a glamorous newlywed exit from her reception with her new husband.
Her wedding day took an unexpected turn when her leg “snapped” after a dance floor mishap—but her determination to still have a grand exit, even on a gurney, has gained admiration from millions. A TikTok video posted by her wedding planner has gone viral with 1.3 million views. The bride, Breyanna LaRose Henderson, 30, spoke to Newsweek about that fateful moment and how she decided the show must go on.
“When the bride says, ‘Do the exit anyway,'” wedding planner and wedding cake designer Harriett Butler (@harriettbutlerevents) captioned the viral clip. “She was the absolute best.”

The video shows Henderson exiting her wedding venue on a gurney, surrounded by cheering guests holding sparklers.
Henderson recounted the events of her wedding day in May for Newsweek, which faced challenges from the start.
“Literally, anything you could imagine to go wrong on a wedding day went wrong, down to us forgetting the flower girls rose petals at our Airbnb,” she said. Delays out of her control also caused frustration among guests. But despite the early hiccups, the reception mood was initially high—until the incident.
“The mood was amazing. It was finally time to relax and party with the love of my life and our family and friends,” she said. “[We] partied like there was no tomorrow.”
The injury occurred while she was dancing to a favorite song.
“A particular song by Big Boogie came on and I began to dance with my best friend,” she said. “I noticed my dress slipping under my sandals—I refused to be the bride spending the entire night in my heels—I didn’t think much of it until I bounced on my right leg and felt my knee in my right leg shoot left, very uncomfortable feeling but before it could register, I came down on it and fell down. It felt like my leg zigzagged as I collapsed, and it hurt.”
A Quick Emotional Recovery
Even with the severe injury, which later confirmed as a torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL), Henderson’s focus remained on making the most of her wedding day.
“Truthfully, I am a diva, and I figured since we had to exit that way anyways due to the gurney, it might as well be beautiful and well lit,” she said. “I didn’t want the party to end and I wanted our family and friends to enjoy the venue and get our money’s worth.”
Reflecting on the day as a whole, despite the dramatic ending, Henderson said she holds positive memories—even though her injury prevented the couple from going on their honeymoon. And her early days of marriage have been nothing short of amazing, thanks to her supportive husband.
“My husband is my entire heart. He took ‘in sickness and in health’ seriously, as he should,” she said. ” He is literally the sweetest, calmest, understanding, uplifting, loving and supportive husband a girl could ever ask for. He hasn’t left my side and has catered to any and everything I’ve needed since I tore my ACL.”
