When asked the age-old question, “How did you know he was the one?” most people might point to a grand gesture or a moment of emotional connection.
For one newlywed woman, though, the proof came in an unexpected but reassuring way: a three-page, business-style proposal outlining her husband’s plan to prepare himself for their future children. The woman posted about it on the account @shaunsway in a TikTok video, which has since gone viral with over 191,000 views.
“Oh, how did I know he was the one?” the woman said in the clip. “I’m so glad you asked. Let me show you.” She then held up a document formatted like a professional proposal.

“Do you see this business proposal?” she asked, revealing the title “Merger & Expansion” dated April 1, 2024. “That is a pregnancy proposal, business plan-style, bullet-pointed out with research of how he’s going to prepare for us to get pregnant.”
“That’s how I know,” the woman added. The caption confirmed she received this document from her new husband the day after getting married.
The document, which is briefly shown, outlines an overview emphasizing the man’s role in health and genetics, followed by specific goals such as, “Improve overall health,” and, “Pass along best possible genetics: Make your body the healthiest possible environment prior to conception.” It includes detailed specifications on the steps he plans to take.
While the presentation might seem clinical to some, for the creator and many viewers, it represented real commitment and foresight. In the comments, the woman revealed the proposal’s origin stemmed from her own suggestion.
“I joked that before we try for kids we need an eight-point plan,” she wrote. “He immediately made one.” She also noted this wasn’t an isolated incident, writing that he has demonstrated behavior like this in “numerous other ways that showed consideration and commitment.”
Viewers were impressed by the husband’s approach. One commenter even shared a similar experience: “My husband wrote me an essay on how he plans not to waste my time when we started dating,” they wrote. “Get you the man who will do the extra work.”
Others saw clearly the practical benefits. “He might be saving you from morning sickness by prioritizing his health prior to conceiving. You’ve got a good one,” another wrote.
Ultimately, it was the level of planning and research that was seen as attractive by many: “[That] would literally be the way to my heart as well,” one person shared. “As a girl who does extensive research when even before beginning a hobby, that is so top tier.”
In a digital culture teeming with examples of whirlwind romances, the husband’s “Merger & Expansion” plan acted as undeniable proof for his wife that he is in it for the long haul.
