An orange cat’s sneaky attempt to tag along on her owner’s trip has delighted millions on TikTok.
The viral clip, shared by user @cattok886 on September 4, shows the cat tucked neatly into a perfectly packed suitcase. Nestled among folded clothes with her favorite toy, she appears completely at ease—either pretending to be asleep to avoid detection or simply too comfortable to move.
The video has amassed almost 10 million views and over 3.2 million likes in just 24 hours (September 4).
Viewers were quick to flood the comments with jokes and sympathy for the would-be traveler.
“I’d cancel the whole trip,” one person wrote, racking up thousands of likes. Another posted, “She packed all her belongings,” a remark that has nearly 300,000 likes.
A third commented: “She fits perfectly. She HAS to go with you.”
Pet Travel on the Rise
Traveling with pets is becoming increasingly common. The American Pet Products Association (APPA) said 55 percent of dog owners and 36 percent of cat owners now shape their travel plans to accommodate their animals.
In 2024, nearly all pet owners traveled with their companions: 88 percent of dog owners and 90 percent of cat owners by car; and 68 percent of dog owners and 80 percent of cat owners by plane.
Frequent journeys are also on the rise, with 34 percent of dog owners and 30 percent of cat owners taking three or more car trips. Twenty-two percent of both groups also took three or more flights together—major increases from 2022.

Why Cats Aren’t Always Happy Travelers
Still, while this feline looks ready for an adventure, the reality is often less glamorous. Cats are far less likely than dogs to enjoy traveling.
U.K.-based charity Cats Protection notes that most felines find travel stressful. They feel secure in familiar surroundings, and the smells, noises, and sensations of moving vehicles can be overwhelming. Even the sight of a carrier can cause anxiety, as cats often associate it with an impending trip.
Tips for Traveling With Cats
For pet parents determined to hit the road with their feline companions, Cats Protection advises bringing essentials to keep cats comfortable and safe on longer trips, including:
With careful planning, travel can be made easier for cats—but as this viral video shows, some may prefer to sneak into luggage rather than be coaxed into a carrier.
