WrestleMania, WWE’s annual flagship event, has undeniably become one of the hardest tickets to get in wrestling, leading to soaring prices. This escalating cost of attendance makes WWE’s recent celebration of WrestleMania 41 as its most financially successful event ever a somewhat complex narrative.
While the company raked in record revenue, the casual fan is priced out. A viral clip circulating on social media captured Orton interacting with fans who had shelled out a staggering $30,000 to be part of the WrestleMania experience.
Orton can be heard expressing his dismay, stating, “It’s embarrassing to be honest, so much f*cking money for a seat.” Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live shed light on the ticket prices, revealing that mere weeks before WrestleMania 41, even “nosebleed” seats were being offered for a staggering $800.
Although these prices plummeted to $100 on the day of the show, the initial asking price highlights the financial barrier for many fans hoping to witness the event live. Adding an unexpected twist to Orton’s WrestleMania 41 storyline was a last-minute opponent change.
Following Kevin Owens’ forced withdrawal due to injury, Orton issued an open challenge that was answered by TNA World Champion Joe Hendry. While this marked Hendry’s WrestleMania debut, his moment was brief, as Orton defeated him in a mere three minutes.
