The Denver Broncos were one of the biggest surprises in 2024. The team managed a playoff berth under rookie quarterback Bo Nix.

Denver is a young and dynamic squad that boasts multiple stars like Quinn Meinerz, Nix, Courtland Sutton, Pat Surtain II, and more. However, one of the team’s biggest areas of improvement is the run game.
The Broncos had no rusher over 600 yards on the ground. Javonte Williams managed 513, but he has since joined the Dallas Cowboys. Next is Jaleel McLaughlin, who secured 496.
While McLaughlin could be RB1, he is third on the depth chart behind rookie RJ Harvey and Audric Estime. Simply put, the Broncos need a proven veteran.

It is strange that the Chargers were willing to give up Dobbins, as he pulled off 1,084 scrimmage yards and nine touchdowns. However, the front office landed Najee Harris and also drafted Omarion Hampton.
Dobbins is clearly on the outs, but could provide a massive boost to the Broncos’ run game.
Dobbins was with the Baltimore Ravens for the first four seasons of his career, but he suffered a torn ACL in 2021, and again in 2023. Though coming back from the injury can also be dubious, especially twice, Dobbins had a spectacular 2024 season.
Dobbins secured 905 yards on the ground in 195 attempts for a 4.6 yards per carry average. He also had nine rushing touchdowns and 153 receiving yards.
Though Dobbins is not a huge threat in the pass-catching game, he can still be used in that manner. In fact, the Broncos could use Dobbins greatly in the short pass game to also set up Nix for a big run.
Denver is expected to shake up the AFC again in 2025, and they could be poised for another playoff berth. Should they sign Dobbins, they will be in a much better place to do so.
Granted, the Chiefs are likely to secure the division crown, but the Broncos could be right behind them, along with the Chargers.
Expect Denver to be in the mix of the postseason, which will be especially true if they land a proven veteran like Dobbins.
